The Yoshi Sling Backpack is an ideal bag to carry your everyday essentials while keeping your hands free. The front of the bag has 2 zip pockets, one hidden and one exposed. There is a welt pocket at the back, which keeps your phone safe since it is against your body while you wear it. A slip pocket and a zipper pocket are located on the inside.
You can wear the bag as a sling bag with a single 1.5" wide strap, or as a backpack with two 1" wide straps. I have created a separate instructions file for a Double-Sided Sling Strap that combines vinyl, cork or leather with webbing. You can make the Double-Sided Sling Strap instead of the one in the main instructions file. The pattern is free and can be downloaded from here.
The bag can be finished by binding or birthing method. The binding method shown in the pattern is very simple and easy to do. This method gives you room for error, so you won't have to worry about binding not fitting right. For the birthing method, the bag is turned through an opening left at the bottom of the lining. Through the opening in the interior zipper pocket, the lining panel opening is closed.
This pattern is suitable for most domestic sewing machine.
The pattern includes 22 pages of step-by-step instructions with plenty of colour photographs to help you through each step. Also included in the PDF pattern are printable pattern pieces for your home printer.

• One 6.5” long #5 zipper with 1 pull installed (Front Pocket Zipper)
